Overland Park, KS (February 22, 2024) – Early on Wednesday morning, February 21, a Kansas City man was killed after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision in Overland Park. The fatal crash took place on Interstate 435 near Metcalf Avenue at around 6:50 a.m. Emergency responders and local authorities were quickly dispatched to the scene.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash left the road where it overturned several times. The driver was ejected and suffered fatal injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim was later identified as 60-year-old James A. Johnson of Kansas City. No other injuries have been reported at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more information will be provided as it continues.
