Kansas City, KS (March 8, 2024) – Two people were hurt after a vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Thursday, March 7. The crash occurred that afternoon at around 1:51 p.m. on Interstate 70 near mile marker 415. Local reports revealed that a 2003 Nissan 350Z driven by 19-year-old Joseph Lor of Kansas City was traveling eastbound on the highway.
The driver was traveling too fast for roadway conditions when the vehicle spun out. A 2016 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 34-year-old Hugo Serrano-Nicholas swerved to avoid crashing into the Nissan and hit a barrier wall. Serrano-Nicholas and his passenger, 32-year-old Elizabeth Serrano, were transported to KU Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries.
There was also a juvenile in the vehicle, but no information on their condition was provided. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
