Lawrence, KS (March 16, 2024) – A two-vehicle crash outside of Lawrence on Friday, March 15, left three people with injuries. The accident occurred at around 5:31 p.m. on K-10 SB in Douglass County. A 2009 Toyota Camry driven by 62-year-old Dmitri Nizovtsev of Lawrence was in the process of making a left turn onto the highway as a 2012 200 Chrysler driven by 29-year-old Dallas Meakins of Belton, MO.
The two vehicles collided when the Camry entered the roadway. Nizovtsev and his passenger, 35-year-old Valeriya Kanaeva also of Lawrence, were transported to Stormont Vail Hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. Meakins was also injured and transferred by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. No further information on the accident has been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
