Intersection Crashes in Kansas
For most of us, intersections are just another part of our daily commute. You probably do not even think twice as you enter an intersection. While it may not seem like much of a concern, you may be surprised to know that you are much more likely to be involved in a collision when at a crossroads. Nearly 40 percent of reported crashes nationwide take place at intersections, according to findings from the National Highway Trafic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Not only that, but almost 20 percent of fatal crashes and 50 percent of serious injury collisions take place at intersections. When you think about it, you are essentially entering the path of an oncoming driver every time you enter, even if you have a green light or the right of way.
