Lacey, KS (April 5, 2024) – Two people suffered serious injuries following a car accident in the Lacey area on Thursday, April 4. The accident was reported on US-83 near County Road 31 that afternoon at around 3:35 p.m. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to render aid to the involved parties.
Local reports revealed that a 52-year-old man from Colby was heading northbound in a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck on County Road 31 leading up to the accident. A 42-year-old Colorado Springs, CO man was traveling westbound in a 2019 Ford pickup truck on US-83 at the same time. It was later revealed that the driver of the Chevy failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the Ford after entering the intersection. The impact caused both trucks to end up in a nearby ditch. Both drivers suffered serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
