Wichita, KS (April 17, 2024) – On Monday morning, April 15, two men were injured after a collision involving a semi-truck in the Wichita area. The accident was reported on US-54 near Road P that morning around 11:30 a.m. It was reported that a man driving a pickup collided with a commercial truck on the highway.
It was later revealed that a 72-year-old Kismet man was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on US-54 as a 2024 Freightliner driven by a 30-year-old Wichita man was traveling west. The driver of the Ram reportedly failed to yield to the oncoming semi-truck, and the trucker crashed into the side of the pickup. Both vehicles came to a rest in a nearby ditch north of the highway. The driver of the Ram was transported to a Wichita medical center for treatment of serious injuries. The truck driver was also injured and transferred to a Liberty medical center. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
