Kansas City, KS (June 8, 2024) – A driver was hurt after a two-vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Friday, June 7. The accident was reported that night around 5:20 p.m. on Interstate 35 SB near Lamar Avenue. Local reports revealed that a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a 2013 Kia Forte were traveling southbound on the highway at the time of the incident. 

It was reported that an unknown vehicle cut off the Kia, causing the driver, 46-year-old Stacy Wilson of Eudora, to brake hard to come to a sudden stop. The driver of the Hyundai, later identified as 34-year-old Samantha Kaufman of Shawnee, crashed into the rear of the Forte. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. Wilson was transported by ambulance to the Kansas University Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
