Winona, KS (June 26, 2024) – There were multiple injuries reported after a single-vehicle crash in the Winona area on Tuesday, June 25. The accident was reported on US-40 WB near mile marker 39 that afternoon around 1:35 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2017 Dodge Journey driven by 18-year-old Emily S. Newman of Salina was traveling west when the vehicle left the roadway and entered a north ditch.
The driver re-entered the roadway and over-corrected as the vehicle slid sideways. The Dodge entered the north ditch where it overturned onto the driver’s side. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. Newman and her three passengers were hurt in the collision, and all the victims were transported by ambulance to Logan County Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The other victims were later identified as 20-year-old Jacob M. Newman, 46-year-old Melissa S. Newman, and 55-year-old Timothy A. Newman, all from Salina.
