Hoxie, KS (July 1, 2024) – On Sunday, June 30, two people were killed after an aviation accident in the Hoxie area. The deadly crash occurred on K-23 near County Road 10 that night, just around 6 p.m. It was later revealed that a YKC Fixed Wing Single-Engine Airplane was traveling northbound when it crashed into a field near the intersection.
Emergency crews were later dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary aid. The pilot of the plane, 78-year-old David K. Allen of Elbert, Colorado, and the passenger, 79-year-old Jeanne M. Allen also from Elbert, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances leading to the deadly accident have not yet been determined. No further information on the fatal crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
