Grinnell, KS (July 31, 2024) – On Tuesday, July 30, a married couple was hurt after a two-vehicle collision in the Grinnell area. The crash took place on Interstate 70 that afternoon around 12:30 p.m. in Gove County. Local reports of 36-year-old Ronald Anthony Garcia of Commerce City, CO was operating a 2024 Peterbilt semi-truck traveling eastbound on the interstate leading up to the crash.
Garcia failed to maintain a lane and collided with an eastbound 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV driven by 67-year-old Jack Nelson Buehler Wichita. The impact caused the SUV to rotate in front of the semi, enter a south ditch, and roll into an embankment. The Tahoe traveled through a fence and came to a stop upright in a nearby field. Buehler and his passenger, 67-year-old Jaye Ann Buehler of Wichita, were transported by ambulance to Gove County Medical Center. Garcia was not hurt in the crash. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
