Lyndon, KS (August 3, 2024) – Two drivers were hurt after a collision in the Lyndon area on Friday, August 2. The accident was reported at the intersection of K-31 WB and Jordan Road that night around 7:43 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2021 GMC Sierra 150 and a 2008 Ford Expedition EMS vehicles were traveling westbound at the time of the crash.
Local reports revealed that the driver of the GMC, 45-year-old Clinton W. Fagen of Shawnee, pulled onto the shoulder to make a U-turn. The driver of the EMS, 62-year-old Gary D. Kitt of Melvern, was responding to a call with emergency sirens engaged. Kitt swerved to avoid hitting the GMC as it made the U-turn, but both vehicles ultimately collided. Both vehicles became disabled and had to be towed from the scene. Both drivers were transported to Stormont Vail Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No additional information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
