Wichita, KS (August 6, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a collision outside of Wichita on Monday, August 5. The crash was reported on K-96 near Hillside Street that afternoon around 3:35 p.m. Local reports revealed that 35-year-old Jared Birkle of Park City was traveling eastbound on a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle behind a 2013 Volvo XC60 driven by 32-year-old Julie Iler of Wichita.

The Volvo had to suddenly stop to avoid hitting a 2008 Ford Edge illegally parked in the traffic lane. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene, and Birkle was transported by ambulance to Ascension Via Christi Urgent Care for treatment. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
