Overland Park, KS (August 7, 2024) – A driver was injured after a two-vehicle crash in the Overland Park area on Tuesday, August 6. The collision took place near the intersection of K-7 and 75th Street early that morning around 9:52 a.m. It was reported that 83-year-old Ramah Earleen Dove of De Soto was traveling southbound in a 2012 Chrysler 200 when they attempted to make a left turn.
Dove entered the northbound K-7 turn lane and attempted to make a U-turn. The Chrysler hit the left rear tire of a 2019 Hyundai Sonata driven by 48-year-old Shelby Lynn Barber of Shawnee. The Hyundai became disabled in the merge lane. Barber was injured in the impact and transported by ambulance to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment. No updates on the accident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
