Pretty Prairie, KS (August 15, 2024) – A Reno County public works employee was killed and several others were hurt after a crash outside of Pretty Prairie on Wednesday, August 14. The deadly accident took place on Pretty Prairie Road east of K-11. Local reports revealed that another employee was operating a road striping vehicle headed eastbound when it left the road for unknown reasons.
The driver overcorrected and re-entered the road, left the road again, and rolled. A passenger in the truck, 49-year-old David Serviss of Arlington, was ejected in the impact. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger were transported to Wichita hospitals, and another passenger was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in serious condition. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
