Kansas City, KS (September 24, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a rear-end collision in the Kansas City area on Monday, September 23. The incident took place on US-73 near Parallel Parkway early that morning around 7:14 a.m. Local reports revealed that 69-year-old Elouise M. Jahnke of De Soto was stopped at the intersection in a 2017 Ford Escape sport utility vehicle.
For unknown reasons, a 2013 Dodge Durango driven by 54-year-old Amanda K. Krauss of Lansing failed to stop and hit the back of the Ford. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary support. The Dodge left the roadway where it came to a rest against a utility pole. The Ford came to a rest on the left shoulder. Both drivers were injured in the crash. Jahnke was transported to Providence Medical Center by ambulance for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
