Burlingame, KS (September 30, 2024) – Two people were injured after a single-vehicle accident in the Burlingame area on Sunday, September 29. The accident took place on Interstate 335 SB near mile marker 163.8 in Osage County at around 4:48 p.m. Local reports revealed that 71-year-old Stephanie Summers Pope of Stillwater, OK was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling south when she lost control for unknown reasons.
The truck overturned, and emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Pope and another passenger in the truck, 74-year-old Christopher Pope also from Stillwater, were injured in the collision. Both victims were transported by ambulance to Stormont Vail Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
