Greensburg, KS (October 5, 2024) – Two people were injured after a collision involving two commercial trucks in the Greensburg area on Friday, October 4. The accident took place on US-183 near V Road that night around 6:19 p.m. Local reports revealed that 39-year-old Homero Balderrama-Mendez of Haviland was driving a 2023 International 9200 semi tractor-trailer traveling east on V Road at the time of the crash.

At the same time, 36-year-old Anthony M. Ross of Cheyenne, WY was headed north on US-183 in a 2007 Peterbilt semi-trailer. For unknown reasons, Balderram-Mendez failed to yield at a stop sign and hit the oncoming truck. The first commercial truck came to a rest at the intersection, and the second vehicle came to a stop facing south in a north ditch. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene. Both truck operators were injured and transported by ambulance to Edwards County Medical Center. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
