Wichita, KS (October 12, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision in Wichita ended in injuries on Friday, October 11. The accident took place on Interstate 135 near 61st Street that afternoon, around 1:31 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2010 Ford E350, a 2016 Nissan Altima, a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck, and a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck were traveling northbound on the interstate at the time of the crash.
The Altima, F-150, and Silverado were stopped due to traffic on the roadway. The driver of the E350, 33-year-old Nicholas Allen of Haysville, failed to stop in time and hit the back of the Nissan, driven by 55-year-old Denise Dreher of Wichita. This caused a chain reaction where Dreher hit the back of the F-150, driven by 44-year-old Alex Jay Chase of Kingwood, TX. The pickup then hit the back of the Chevy, driven by 65-year-old Kevin Hanschu of Wichita. Chase was injured and transported by ambulance to Wesley Woodlawn Hospital for treatment. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
