Deadly Stop Sign Crashes in Kansas
Intersections are a hotbed for serious car accidents. Statistics show that nearly 20 percent of roadway fatalities and half of major injury collisions take place at crossroads in the United States. Stop signs and traffic lights are intended to curb road deaths, but they are ineffective if drivers fail to follow them. Many reckless motorists run stop signs, causing life-changing collisions in the process. The majority of intersection collisions involve drivers who fail to yield. Nearly one-quarter of the almost 700,000 stop-sign accidents that happen every year across the country end in injury.
