Kansas City, KS (October 16, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Tuesday, October 15. The accident took place on Interstate 635 NB south of State Avenue at around 12:34 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2013 Chrysler 200 were traveling northbound on the interstate when the driver of the Dodge, 29-year-old Pedro Luis Calderon of Kansas City, stopped due to slowing traffic.
The driver of the Chrysler, 45-year-old Phillip Castleberry of Kansas City, failed to stop and crashed into the back of the pickup. Emergency crews were later dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Both drivers were transferred by ambulance to the Kansas University Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
