Colby, KS - Two Injured in Semi Crash at KS-25 & Co Rd AA

Colby, KS (October 18, 2024) – Two people were hurt after a collision outside of Colby on Thursday, October 17. The accident took place at the crossing of KS-25 and County Road AA early that morning around 9:24 a.m. Local reports revealed that 78-year-old Ken A. Christiansen of Brewster was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection in a 2021 GMC Canyon facing east. 

Christiansen began to enter the intersection to turn left when he was hit by a southbound 2006 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by 22-year-old Evan P. Warren of Culbertson, NE. The semi hit the front passenger side of the GMC. The truck came to a stop in the intersection, and the GMC came to a rest off the road. Emergency crews were sent to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Christiansen and his passenger, 77-year-old Janet M. Christiansen of Brewster, were injured and transported by ambulance to Citizen’s Medical Center for treatment. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
