Overland Park, KS - Two Hurt in Rear-end Crash at I-435 & Antioch Rd

Overland Park, KS (October 23, 2024) – A chain-reaction collision in the Overland Park area on Tuesday, October 22, resulted in confirmed injuries. The accident took place on Interstate 435 EB near Antioch Road at around 4:32 p.m. Local reports revealed that three vehicles were traveling eastbound in the first lane at the time of the crash.

For unknown reasons, traffic came to a standstill. Local reports revealed that 47-year-old Brian Chaney of Independence, MO was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram 5500 pickup truck when he rear-ended a 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 63-year-old Stephen Painter of Kansas City, MO. The impact pushed the Ford into the back of a 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by 56-year-old Lane Hauschild of Blue Springs, MO. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Painter and his passenger, 44-year-old Francisca Salinas of Kansas City, MO, were injured and transported to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.

Our thoughts are with Stephen Painter, Francias Salinas, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
