Kansas City, KS (November 5, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Monday, November 4. The accident took place near the Interstate 70 and Interstate 635 interchange that afternoon around 12:20 p.m. Local reports revealed that 25-year-old Esther L. Rivera of Kansas City was headed south in a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck as 47-year-old Blair D. Falconer of Overland Park was also traveling south in a 2020 Ford F-550 pickup truck.
For unknown reasons, Rivera made an improper lane change and sideswiped the Ford. This caused the Dodge to spin out and hit a nearby barrier wall. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Two occupants of the Ram, 53-year-old Maricela L. Miranda of Kansas City and a one-year-old, were injured in the impact. Both victims were transported by ambulance to the Kansas University Medical Center for treatment. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
Our thoughts are with Maricela L. Miranda, the injured victim, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
