Meriden, KS (November 16, 2024) – Two people were hurt after a pileup crash in the Meriden area on Friday, November 15. The accident took place at the intersection of KS-4 and 62nd Street that night around 6:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that 21-year-old Brayden Abrams of Meriden was stopped on KS-4 in a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck about to make a left turn onto 62nd Street.

At the same time, 75-year-old Gordon Smith of Ozawkie was traveling south on the highway in a 2005 Toyota Camry and failed to stop and crashed into the back of the pickup. After the impact, the Toyota traveled into northbound traffic and collided with a 2022 GMC driven by 68-year-old Edward Kreger of Prospect. Emergency responders were rapidly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Abrams and Smith were both hurt in the crash, and the victims were transported by ambulance to Stormont Vail Hospital for treatment. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
