Lenexa, KS (December 4, 2024) – A three-vehicle collision on I-35 early Tuesday morning left two drivers injured. The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m., just 0.2 miles north of 18th Street, when a 2022 BMW rear-ended a 2014 Toyota Camry in lane one, causing the Camry to swerve and sideswipe a 2015 Ford Transit in lane two.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist those involved. The driver of the BMW, 27-year-old Pooja Patel, and the driver of the Camry, 25-year-old Austin Crider, sustained suspected minor injuries. Ms. Patel was transported to KU Medical Center by a personal vehicle, while Mr. Crider was taken by EMS to the hospital. The driver of the Ford Transit, identified as 31-year-old Luis Cadena, was not injured in the crash. All drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.
Traffic on I-35 was briefly disrupted as authorities cleared the scene and conducted their investigation. Details of the crash remain under review, and additional updates may follow as more information becomes available.
