Basehor, KS (December 9, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of K7 Highway and Hollingsworth Road left four people injured on Sunday afternoon. The crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. when a westbound 2013 Ford Escape failed to yield and entered the path of a northbound 2021 Jeep Renegade. The Jeep struck the Ford in the intersection.
The driver of the Jeep, 40-year-old Darcell Crawford of Lansing, Kansas, and her passenger, 14-year-old Joshua Crawford, both sustained suspected minor injuries and were taken to KU Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Ford, 83-year-old Rose Knop of Ellinwood, Kansas, and her passenger, 64-year-old Elaine Wendel, also suffered suspected minor injuries and were transported to the same hospital. Emergency crews were present at the scene to assist the injured and clear the roadway. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and further details may be released.
