Admire, KS (October 6, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a single-vehicle crash outside of Admire on Saturday, October 5. The incident took place on K-99 near Road 310 at around 5:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that 34-year-old Jake Ryan Miller of Emporia was driving a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer traveling northbound on the highway.
For unknown reasons, the passenger tires left the roadway. The driver over-corrected and re-entered the road. The vehicle left the road to the right and hit a barbed wire fence. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to provide the necessary aid. A passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Katelynn Marie Miller of Emporia, was injured in the crash. Miller was transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Health Hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported in the crash. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
