Augusta, KS (March 7, 2024) – Two people were killed after a car accident in the Augusta area on Sunday, March 3. The deadly accident was reported at the intersection of SW 150th Street and SW Santa Fe Lake Road at around 4:45 p.m. Local reports that a Chevrolet Suburban was headed westbound when it failed to yield at a stop sign.
The SUV collided with an Acura RDX traveling southbound. The Chevy came to a stop in a nearby ditch, and the Acura overturned before hitting a tree. The two occupants of the Acura suffered fatal injuries in the accident.
The deceased victims were later identified as 46-year-old Dr. Monica Moore, a local veterinarian, and her daughter. The 30-year-old El Dorado woman driving the Suburban was transported to a local Wichita Hospital for treatment. No additional information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
