Avon, KS - Several Hurt in Motorcycle Crash at US-160 & N Oliver Rd

Avon, KS (September 23, 2024) – There were multiple confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Avon area on Sunday, September 22. The incident took place on US-160 near N. Oliver Road that afternoon around 2:20 p.m. Local reports revealed that 64-year-old Allison Leedy of Ponca City was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound behind a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan operated by 44-year-old Shannon Skinner of Haysville. 

For unknown reasons, Leedy hit the back of the motorcycle. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide the necessary aid to the injured parties. Leedy was injured and transported to William Newton Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Skinner and another passenger on the bike, 39-year-old Kimberly Davidson of Anthony, were also hurt and taken by ambulance to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital. No updates on the accident are currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
