Basehor, KS (December 4, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 24 and 166th Street left one driver injured Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 7:18 a.m. near mile marker 414 when a 2010 Toyota Tacoma failed to yield the right of way and collided with a 2010 Chevy Silverado traveling westbound on U.S. 24.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. The driver of the Tacoma, identified as 17-year-old Ashley Miller of Basehor, was reportedly uninjured and declined medical transport. The driver of the Silverado, 49-year-old Wilson Torres of Shawnee, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Providence Medical Center for treatment. Both drivers were wearing safety restraints at the time of the crash.
Traffic disruptions occurred briefly as the scene was cleared and investigated. Local authorities continue to review the incident, with updates to follow as new information becomes available.
