Red Light Crashes in Kansas
We all travel through intersections almost every day. Unfortunately, a lot of drivers don’t pay attention to stop signs and traffic signals, which can easily lead to major accidents. The AAA Foundation reports that drivers who don’t stop at red lights are responsible for nearly 28 percent of fatal intersection crashes. For more than half of these deaths, the people who died were not in the car that ran the light. In 2021, 1,109 people died in related collisions in the United States. Almost half of those deaths were in other cars, on foot, or a bike. Nearly 127,000 red-light crashes ended in injury that year. It can be difficult to navigate the complicated legal system after being injured by a reckless driver.
