Sideswipe Crashes in Kansas
Reckless drivers are all over Kansas roads, and it only takes one person to cause a life-changing car accident. Many motorists will recklessly change lanes and speed on the state’s roads. This increases the risk of a sideswipe, where a car hits the side of a nearby vehicle. According to findings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), there are more than 242,000 sideswipe crashes reported each year in the United States. These collisions contribute to more than 2,500 deaths and 27,000 injuries. Nearly 2.7 percent of traffic fatalities involve sideswipes on average.
