Clay Center, KS (March 22, 2024) – There were several reported injuries after a multi-vehicle collision involving a commercial truck in the area of Clay Center on Thursday, March 21. The crash was reported on K-15 at around 4:40 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 64-year-old was heading northbound in a 1999 Toyota Rav4 leading up to the accident.
At the same time, an 80-year-old man from Clay Center in a 2008 Dodge Caravan and a 49-year-old man from Persia, IA in a 1989 Freightliner semi-truck were traveling southbound on the highway. The Toyota crossed the centerline and collided with the oncoming Dodge. The impact caused the semi-truck to also hit the Caravan. Both the driver and occupant of the Dodge were hurt. The driver of the Rav4 was hospitalized in serious condition. No additional injuries have been reported at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
