Clay County, KS – Two Killed, Teen Injured in Tragic Crash on K-15

Clay County, KS (December 9, 2024) – A devastating collision on Sunday evening resulted in two fatalities and left a teenager seriously injured. The crash occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m. on K-15, just south of 2nd Road. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Malibu crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2016 Chevrolet Impala on the driver’s side.

The driver of the Malibu, 56-year-old Deanna Hess of Clay Center, Kansas, tragically lost her life in the crash. The driver of the Impala, 53-year-old Lisa Stevenson of Salina, Kansas, was also pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Impala, identified as 13-year-old Ravean Stevenson, sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center for medical treatment. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by local towing services.

Emergency responders and law enforcement officials were on the scene to manage the aftermath and assist those involved. The collision is under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol to determine the events that led to the tragic crash.
