Semi-truck Accidents in Kansas
It is common for Kansas drivers to share the road with large semi-trucks. The state plays a key role in the national transportation infrastructure, and the majority of cargo in the United States is shipped by truck. Unfortunately, this increases the risk of a catastrophic trucking accident. Statistics show that there are more than 500,000 collisions reported annually involving large trucks, contributing to more than 5,000 deaths and many more severe injuries. When fully loaded, a truck can weigh nearly 70,000 pounds. This is sufficient to cause life-changing injuries in the event of a crash traveling at highway speeds. Passenger cars are involved in the majority of these accidents, and unfortunately, those traveling in these vehicles are much more likely to suffer serious injuries.
