Concordia, KS (October 21, 2024) – There were multiple injuries reported after a two-vehicle collision in the Concordia area on Sunday, October 20. The crash took place on US-81 near Gold Road at around 6:11 p.m. Local reports revealed that 44-year-old Michaela M. Lopez of Fairbury, NE was driving a 2018 Dodge Caravan headed northbound on the highway behind a 1995 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by 65-year-old Charles Hansen of Concordia.
For unknown reasons, Lopez hit the back of the truck in the right lane. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Lopez and two juvenile occupants in the Dodge were injured in the impact. An 11-year-old was transported by ambulance to North Central Kansas Medical Center for additional treatment. No other injuries were reported in the collision. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the accident is currently available.
