Coolidge, KS (August 18, 2024) – A truck driver was hurt after a collision involving two semi-trucks on Thursday, August 15. The accident was reported on US-50 near Road G late that night around 6:59 p.m. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties.
It was later revealed that 77-year-old Ramon Zook of Florence was driving a tractor-trailer when they rear-ended another semi driven by 51-year-old Hua Liu of Atlanta, GA. Both vehicles were headed westbound on the highway leading to the collision. Zook was transported to Newman Regional Hospital by ambulance for the treatment of sustained injuries. Liu was provided aid at the scene by attending medical personnel and later released. No further information on the collision is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
