Cuba, KS (July 18, 2024) – On Tuesday, July 16, a driver was killed following a crash with a semi-truck outside of Cuba. The deadly accident took place on US-36 in Washington County that afternoon. Local reports indicated that Brian L. Dowling of Manhattan was traveling eastbound in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck as he attempted to pass a tractor-trailer.
As Dowling re-entered the lane, he collided with the westbound semi-truck. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. Dowling sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the semi was not injured in the accident. No further updates on the crash are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
