De Soto, KS (July 2, 2024) – Two people were injured following a collision in the De Soto area on Monday, July 1. The accident was reported at the intersection of K-10 EB and Corliss Road late that night, around 6 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by 39-year-old Christian G. Buan of Overland Park was stopped in the second lane at the time of the crash.
At the same time, a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 56-year-old Thomas O. Duffy of De Soto was slowing down. Local sources indicated that 54-year-old Karen S. Walton of Belton, MO, was driving a 2017 Ford Escape when she sneezed and crashed into the rear of the Ford pickup. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid. Both Walton and Duffy were injured in the crash, and both victims were transported by ambulance to Overland Park Regional Hospital for treatment. No updates on the incident are currently available.
