Dennis, KS (September 20, 2024) – There were several reported injuries after a car accident in the Dennis area on Thursday, September 19. The incident took place on US-400 near Gray Road that night around 6:48 p.m. Local reports revealed that 20-year-old Christopher A. Peoples of Altamont was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe sport utility vehicle headed westbound on the highway as 58-year-old Patrick S. Gallagher of Pittsburg was traveling east on the highway in a 2022 Ford F-250 pickup truck.
Local reports revealed that Peoples attempted a left turn onto Gray Road when his Chevy was hit by the oncoming pickup. Emergency responders were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Peoples and his three passengers were injured in the crash, later identified as 21-year-old Hailey J. Schild, 18-year-old Nathan Schild, and 22-year-old Andrew J. Stammer, all from Parsons. Gallagher and his passenger, a 12-year-old juvenile, were also injured. All the crash victims were transported to Labette Health Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
