Dundee, KS – Driver Hurt in 18-Wheeler Crash at US-56 & 80th Ave

Dundee, KS (March 15, 2024) – There were reported injuries after a semi-truck accident in the Dundee area on Wednesday, March 13. The incident was reported that afternoon at around 2:40 p.m. on US-56 near SW 80th Avenue. Local reports revealed that a pickup truck collided with a 2024 Kenworth at the scene. 

It was reported that the semi-truck, operated by Kelsey Jackson of Hutchinson was traveling westbound hauling a trailer loaded with agriculture chemicals. The pickup collided with the rear of the truck as it slowed to make a right turn. The Nissan truck became stuck underneath the trailer and was dragged a short distance before coming to a stop. 

The driver of the pickup, Randy Johnson of Pawnee Rock, was extricated from the vehicle by responding emergency units. He was transported to KU Medical Center in Great Bend for treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local authorities, and more updates will be provided as it continues.
