Stop Sign Collisions in Kansas
Recent statistics show that intersections can be dangerous places. Most of us will travel through a green light or stop sign without thinking twice, but the data shows that maybe we should be more cautious. When people don’t stop at stop signs and red lights, they are more likely to hit another car going the other way. About one-third of the 700,000 accidents that happen every year at stop-sign-controlled crossings result in injuries. In fact, intersection crashes are some of the worst possible. Most of the time, these accidents involve drivers who fail to yield. The numbers show that about half of all injury crashes and 20 percent of roadway fatalities occur at intersections.
