Fairview, KS (October 9, 2024) – There were reported injuries after a two-vehicle crash in the Fairview area on Tuesday, October 8. The accident took place on US-77 NB near 72nd Road that afternoon around 1:23 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck and a 2020 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck were headed north on the highway.
The driver of the Dodge, 52-year-old Jaqueline R. Mahlandt of Atlanta, slowed due to traffic on the roadway. The other driver, 73-year-old Jesse F. Crockford of Hutchinson, failed to notice and crashed into the back of the Ram. Emergency crews were dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Both drivers were injured in the crash. Crockford was transported by ambulance to William Newton Hospital for treatment. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
