Florence, KS (June 21, 2024) – Two men were killed following a crash in the Wichita area on Thursday, June 20. The incident was reported on US-50 in Marion County around 6:30 a.m. Local reports revealed that a GMC Acadia was traveling eastbound when it veered left of center and crashed into an eastbound Hyundai Santa Fe.
Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Both drivers sustained fatal injuries in the impact and were later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC was identified as 41-year-old Travis A. Flasschoen of Wichita, and the driver of the Hyundai was identified as 71-year-old John M. Ireland of Cottonwood Falls. No updates on the incident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
