Fredonia, KS - Pedestrian Hurt in Crash at US-400 & KS-47

Fredonia, KS (November 11, 2024) – A pedestrian was injured after a traffic accident in the Fredonia area on Sunday, November 10. The crash took place on US-400 WB near KS-47 late that night around 10:10 p.m. Local reports revealed that a non-contact vehicle was disabled in the lane of travel with no lights after hitting a deer on the highway. 

The driver of a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck, 30-year-old William C. Pingleton of West Plains, MO, veered to avoid hitting the disabled car and struck a pedestrian on the north shoulder. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. The injured pedestrian, 18-year-old Jozlyn R. Clift or Erie, was transported by ambulance to Fredonia Regional Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are managing an ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
