Grandview, KS (May 23, 2024) – A Kansas woman was killed following a head-on crash in the Grandview area on Tuesday, May 21. The deadly accident was reported at the crossing of US-50 and US-283 in Ford County that evening just before 6 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2019 Ford passenger vehicle driven by 62-year-old William M. Redd of Borger, TX, was turning southbound onto US-283 from US-50 at the time of the crash.
Redd entered the path of an eastbound 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 23-year-old Chantelle L. Scott of Wright. Both vehicles collided head-on and traveled south into a nearby ditch. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene. Scott and her passenger, 25-year-old Derrick J. Sprott of Spearville, were transported to CommonSpirit St. Catherine’s Hospital – Dodge City for the treatment of sustained injuries. Scott was later pronounced dead. No further information on the incident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials have an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
