Grant, KS (May 27, 2024) – Two people were injured after a car crash in the Grant area on Sunday, May 26. The accident was reported at the corner of Homer Road and 182nd Street that afternoon around 1:50 p.m. Local reports indicated that a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup truck was heading eastbound on Homer Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.

The driver, 22-year-old Ryan Knight Pickens of Garden City, left the roadway and entered a ditch before overturning. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. Pickens was transported by ambulance to Russell Regional Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. A passenger in the truck, 38-year-old Tabatha Lynn Yakubovich of Garden City, was also hurt and treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
