Hiawatha, KS (June 14, 2024) – A driver was injured after being hit by two separate vehicles in the Hiawatha area on Thursday, June 13. The accident was reported on US-73 SB near mile marker 91.8 that night around 6:36 p.m. Local reports revealed that 61-year-old Deborah J. Wright of Horton was driving a 2022 Kia Seltos when she slowed so a motorcyclist ahead of her could make a left turn.
It was then that a 2016 Honda Accord driven by 24-year-old Morgon R. Thomas of Mayetta swerved to avoid hitting the back of the Kia, but Thomas still clipped the vehicle. A 2009 Nissan Versa driven by 50-year-old Chris D. Jorn of Horton crashed into the back of the Kia. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene, and Wright was transported by ambulance to Hiawatha Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the incident is currently available.
