Junction City, KS (April 5, 2024) – On Thursday, April 4, an Abilene man was injured after a rear-end collision in the area of Junction City. The incident was reported on Interstate 70 underneath the Milford Lake Road bridge late that night around 6:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup truck was headed eastbound in the right lane at the time of the crash.
The pickup crashed into the rear of a 2016 Chevy Silverado pickup truck hauling a Gator Made trailer that was parked on the south shoulder and had merged into traffic traveling at 15 miles per hour. The driver of the GMC, 32-year-old Jacob Thomas Stevenson of Abilene, was injured. He was transported by ambulance to Stormont Vail Hospital for treatment. The other driver, identified as 23-year-old William J. Carter of Russellville, KY, was not injured in the impact. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
