Kansas City, KS (July 13, 2024) – On Friday, July 12, there were reported injuries after a car accident in the Kansas City area. The crash was reported on Interstate 70 WB near mile marker 419.8 late that night around 9:20 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2022 Dodge Durango 4DR sport utility vehicle was parked on the gore running stationary radar.
It was reported that a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling westbound on the interstate when it entered the gore and hit the rear of the Durango. The driver of the Chevy fled the scene without rendering aid. The driver of the Dodge, 30-year-old Andrew Zeller of Wichita, was injured in the collision and transported to Stormfront Vail Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The Dodge was inoperable and had to be towed from the scene. No updates on the collision are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in the hands of local law enforcement officials.
